Marks in Neocolors on postal paper

It all started with a little mark-making session, just line after line of Neocolor II wax crayons, the marks growing to fill a huge swatch of postal paper. This is a heavy utilitarian brown paper used for wrapping packages. Isn’t it pretty!? As a friend at FB pointed out, the texture of the postal paper makes the marks even more interesting. The Neocolors grab onto the paper and I love the rich, saturated color on the basic backdrop. [If you are curious about Neocolor I and II, here’s a ginormous post about them with examples and thoughts.] Anyhow, here are a bunch of collages I made using this paper as collage fodder — I really like the way it looks!
