Stack-o-Journals. Some for travel, some not.

As we start counting down the months until summer vacation {er, winter vacation, for others} I wanted to share something that I do before every trip. If I have my act together, which is sometimes, I make a stitched journal a few weeks before a trip. The journal has stitched elements and spaces for documenting the trip. I include at minimum one "side" of a page for each day of the trip, plus a few for good measure. Some trips, the journal is stitched at 2am the night before departure and the sewing machine needle breaks [case in point: California 2013]. But it's really important to me to have a journal. Each night at the hotel, I write a little blip about what happened that day. Where we went, something to remember. Sometimes I doodle or make the date or city name look fun... I don't force it to be pretty or perfect, just legible!
