"You can't use up creativity.
The more you use,
the more you have."
ICAD #4, 3x5" index card, gouache
The first year that you do the index-card-a-day challenge can be, well, overwhelming. To be precise? The first three weeks of the first year of the challenge can be overwhelming. Lots of cards are flying. Like, everywhere you turn. You might start second-guessing your work. Is it good enough? The answer, by the way, is yes! Because it's not a competition, folks. It's not even an art challenge. It's a creative challenge. A personal one. It's really important to frame this challenge as one that is possible.
After the first three weeks, the challenge usually gets EASIER. Here are some good signs that this is happening!
a) You get into the groove of creating.
b) You start to see that each of your cards is just part of a larger whole.
c) You realize that every card is a fresh opportunity.
d) You find yourself looking forward to tomorrow's card.
