The Glittery Galaxy of Index Cards

“Accepting oneself does not preclude
an attempt to become better.”

If you're into the kind of art that I share, I would love for you to join the Daisy Yellow community at FB. When you requisition to join, please answer the two questions so that I know you are a reader. You may not see the questions on the mobile app, so try on a desktop.

We are going against the grain, in a crazy world,
making a proactive choice to DO creative work.

It is not easy to do what you are doing! You are so kind to each other, so positive, so effervescent in your feedback! I see you guys making new friends and getting more comfortable in your art-making!

Our confident ICADgurus are inspiring! Our cute ICADettes are blossoming! Our shy ICADians are sharing! Our perfectionistic participants are painting!

I believe with all of my heart that this matters.

Here's the deal, my friends. Everyone does not have to "get" you. Or your art. But I think that it is important to FIND a community of creative people that do "get" the desire to make art. Whatever YOU define as art. Just do it anyhow. Do it for yourself and to make life better.

Fun blog posts about ICAD....

a. Kim is making collages with teeny tiny paper scraps
b. Amy is drawing portraits in ballpoint pen
c. Cindy is creating collages from painted papers
d. Hanna is making collages on pink index cards.

Keep up the good work! It's a creative goal at once tiny + extraordinary.

This is one of my simplest ICADs, dated 2014, yet one of my favorites. It makes me happy to think of the projects I was doing at that time.

Do something today that will make you SMILE one day in the distant future.

It might be some polka dots or a 3rd portrait in a series or you might start a fresh journal with inkblots or rainbows.

The pace of a daily challenge is hectic, I know!!! But I want you to finish! You will be SO proud of yourself when you look back and realize what has *just* happened in the blink of an eye. One thing that will help immensely is to reassess each week - take a look at what you have accomplished - take a look at what you explored.

Hold that pocket of art time close to your heart, keep it on your calendar. Keep it in your planner. Make it PART of what you do. Part of how you define yourself.
