Yet More Colorful Collages
“Nothing builds self-esteem
61 cards | 61 days
Just noticed ICADs 53-61 without ✅ marks under the column “DY” in my tracker.
(8) ⓼ ❽ 8︎⃣ ㏧ 捌 ㊇ 8️⃣ index-card-challenges-in-a-row 🚀 8 summers of small format art. 8 summers of friendship + creative camaraderie out in ICADlandia. And yeah, we’re well into the ICAD off-season, but if you haven’t had a chance🍹🌈💥 take a moment to 🎆 snap a photo of your ICADs and magnetize to your fridge or upload to instagram or tack [Fun Fact: In Texas they’re called push pins and in PA they are thumb tacks] to your cork board.
Ideas? Make stickers from them at MOO, washi tape into a handmade accordion book, or punch a hole and throw them onto a jump ring. Give a subset to your book club or mail one to your friend Lana.
You can find my 2018 ICAD Wrap-Up with a ginormous grid of cards here.
CAD № 53|61 “minimalism with soul” Rummaging thru papers 🎈looking for magic. Playing with image transfers in the background with some bold text finds.
ICAD № 54|61 “magenta, fuchsia[,] and crimson, where red and pink meet” 💘 Now that my kids have convinced me to use the oxford comma, I notice when others don't.
ICAD № 55|61 “cool contrasts create” another collage from my dining room 💚
ICAD № 56|61 So this is actually a mash up of several cards put back together because:fun. I like that it’s at different levels now like an old wooden fence. ⛓⚛️🍐
ICAD № 57|61 “previous and following pages”
ICAD № 58|61: “unusual use of mauve” Off-prompt as per usual. But if you are curious my fav color is (d) all of the above.
ICAD № 59|61: [on prompt here —> staple] "circled" one staple collage - fun to work in more 3D fashion, keeping track of the underlying edges so that I know the staple will do its job! Always a bummer if something inadvertently falls out! Painted papers, gelatin prints, japanese papers, vintage contract bridge book paper, wrapping paper, paint chip!
ICAD № 60|61 ⛓ "ideas both verbally and visually” 🧡💚💛 collage is like making a magic potion where you allow the ingredients to shift with your mood. I’ve really gotten into this last week plus of acrylics and collage and I’m feeling a pull back to my altered books. It seems like a good transfer point to the next thing. And there’s always a next thing. 🌈💘☮️
ICAD № 61|61 🍂 "russet apples and pumpkins” 💬 as appropriate for autumn!
