At the discount book store I found this super ridiculously wide book with glossy pages, and I was hooked, curious to see what kinds of things these dimensions would spark in terms of collage. A long line of polka dots? A collection of some sort? A row of houses from Amsterdam? In other news, I discovered the joy of neutral gray.
This horizontal space has been really fun to use.
The earlier phase is mostly white in the photos; the finished page includes the addition of neutral grey heavy body acrylics. A few months ago I got a jar of Golden neutral grey - figured that it was time to learn how to use it. I didn't go to art school so everything is trial and error and practice. I never expected to love grey or understand the allure -- and now I'm hooked.
