Art Journal: Yes/Roundabout

A journal is not only a playground for testing ideas and theories and hypotheses.
It can also be a sanity-salvager.
You can test this, can't you?

Ponder.

What is it that pulls you into your journal, day in and day out?
Maybe it's big intense stuff like exploring your negative vibes.
Or the freedom to use bubble gum pink glitter glue.

Even if it's not archival.

I felt inspired by a phrase from the lyrics of a gorgeous song by Yes, who I've seen in concert... twice. When I was growing up, radio stations held top 100 contests on New Years Eve and we used to stay up late to hear the top 10, poised with our cassette decks ready to record. Songs like Roundabout and Freebird and Stairway to Heaven were always at the top. It's a song that my brother can play so beautifully on acoustic guitar. Anyhow, the song is bittersweet, I think, and it reminds me of an amusement park that we used to go to each summer. The pages are in an altered book, with acrylics, Neocolors and collage.
