So this is a little off the beaten path for me, a tangible bit of weirdness in the turquoise altered book. I'm calling this "Mysteries Hidden" and the subtitle will be "First Person Singular" because... well, why not? These pages started with an experiment where I wanted to compare gel medium {left} and fiber paste {right}, so I pressed each through a screen and let dry. Gel medium is more smooth when dry, yet holds texture. Fiber paste feels like sand inside toothpaste, sort of, and dries rough like cement yet holds texture even better.

The result - two odd textured blobs. Hmmm. What do you do with two odd textured blobs? It looked like a Rorschach test page. So I added acrylics, india inks, alcohol inks, collaged papers, working from the inside of the {center of the page... the hinge?}  ➸ outside. I've been pondering the public and private persona(s) that we show and share and hide and contemplate.

And these pages are sticky, not just the typical sticky but because the textured areas sort of interlock when the book is closed. Tips on unsticking art journal pages and more tips about waiting for acrylics to dry, including pens to write on acrylic backgrounds.
