Weaving Doodles III

5x8" moleskine, two page spread, gelly roll, hi-tec c pen

Lately I am filling the pockets and nooks and crannies of my days with doodles.

What are you doing with your little pockets of time?

In my little pockets of time I tend to knit. But more and more I have been daydreaming. Planning art to create. This AEDM has given me lots of fuel for thinking. I wish I could doodle. I tried carrying a small moleskine around for a couple years and I never could bear to mess it up with my bad drawings.

Thanks to you (and I TRULY mean a big thanks), in free moments, I am almost always thinking about things I've tried or want to try with paper, etc. I found out about your blog & ICAD last June (from a long-time Flickr friend) I honestly would not have thought I would enjoy playing with paper & supplies. I definitely did not think I would be brave enough to post my work.

I hope you realize the positive impact that you have made in many of our lives! Thanks for always inspiring me.

BTW, love your weaving doodles ... something else I want to try. (Though my work never looks as good as yours, but another thing I've learned here is: we are all individuals & we create things differently ... not necessarily better or worse)

Little pockets of _useable_ time is more time it. Mostly I'm working on breathing, and being present and aware. I have so many things I should be doing. Taking a moment to just be alive is so very important. I am not what I accomplish or fail to accomplish. Letting my perspective change helps me keep my balance. I love your photos so much because you seem to capture that state of really seeing and being creatively aware of the world. So this blog is one of my pockets of time to breathe, and be present and aware. Thanks.

Thanks to you, and Balzer Designs, now I have DOODLES!!! Yay! They have taken over from Sudoku for little pockets of time. I love that I can then use the doodles in journals and scrapbooks and photo albums. 'Every minute as 60 seconds run' - is that a Kipling quote?

I love the look of the woven doodles. I gave it a try and it was fun. Also a bit more challenging on this ol' brain than I expected. Apparently I need to exercise it more!
