Urban Sketching: Varenna, Italy

5x8" moleskine, slicci pen

Snapped a phone photo to document the scene. While visiting Lake Como, we took a ferry from Bellagio to Varenna to see the city. We walked to a scenic area and got gelato and cappucino and I had about 15 minutes to draw these pretty boats. The idea is to capture the essence, the feel of the scene, not every detail, and not with perfect accuracy.
Photographs from our trip to Italy.
