The List Journal Project: Books

The List Journal Project is about writing lists in your journal. Hanna and I made each other stitched journals especially for the project, and we are opening our journals and sharing our lists with you each Saturday until we finish our journals.

We hope that you will play along in any journal you choose, or any way you choose. You can write a list on an index card, type a list in a funky font and print it and glue it into your art journal, hand write a list onto an art journal page, or add a list box to the corner of that day's to-do list. In any way you wish. A swap is not necessary, just a list!

Read my first list, and the introduction to the project!

This week, the subject is books. My twist was to document nine books I read recently. A lot of the allure and goodness of lists is their power to document life, whether that's a moment in time, or an era. Keeping track of the books you read each year helps me frame out the year in my mind when I look back. When I wrote this list, my goal for this year was 25 books but I've been reading so much that I've upped it to 35!!! You can skim my 2012 book list and there are lots of recommended books listed in Art Journaling 101.

Please join us in our creative list-making adventure!

You can use this button if you want to play along with us and link to Hanna or Tammy {either one is fine!!!} Next Saturday we’ll post the next list prompt! Be sure to pop over to Hanna's introduction to our journal swap.

List it Tuesday has returned to Artsyville! Join Aimee, an avid doodle-list writer, in her weekly listy prompts.

I think it's such a good idea to keep track of the books I read, but I'm not so good about keeping up with it. I've never set reading goals for the year, but that sounds like a pretty good idea, too. Love the list-making, Tammy!

Oh good books, and it reminds me that we talked about Ayn Rand once too. Love that you've reached your reading goal. Yay you!

Perfect topic, it's always nice to see what others are reading. Also, thanks for reminding me about Goodreads. I got started on it a few years ago, but today was the 1st time in 2 years I went on the site. I typically take a photo of the book I'm currently reading & add it to my Flickr. Then, I can remember when I read a book.

The idea of lists as a way to document & remember is great.

I love Goodreads. It also makes this list every easy, though I wish I had read better books right about now!!! haha

Yay, done and loaded. Do you glue your pogo prints to the page? Mine don't seem to stick well at all.
