The Intersection of Everything Artsy

a pair of pages from the 8.25x5.5" exacompta journal; acrylics, neocolors, pitt pen, collage, gellyrolls

I feel like I've made a huge discovery. I can put everything together, the doodles, the painting, the drawing, the quirky stuff, the quotes. It doesn't have to live separately.

The idea behind the journaling - explore the possibilities - free your mind, and the rest will follow. But I don't know how to clear my mind. It's in chaos sometimes. Well, most of the time. The creative ideas intermingled with all of the junk I should be doing that I don't want to do {translation: cleaning, shopping, pruning, deciding}. How do you strike a balance? How do you clear your mind?

Love these photos/journal pages too Tammy!

How to clear your mind: write morning pages, write and then write some more. Feels so much better afterwards!

Sounds like I feel very often. Writing in down in a to do list, journal, etc. helps me.

Great spread! I love how its busy-ness reflects what you are talking about with your mind. I'm with Hannah--the morning pages help A LOT! And lots of lists with little boxes next to each item so you can check things off when they are finished. It's hard for me to go to bed unless I've made a list for the next day.

Off and on, over the years, I've done "morning pages." I like the idea of your "intersection" journal because it too is a way to have a mind-dump and a lot of fun...and it's quite portable. In fact, I intend to begin a "someday/maybe" journal to carry with me and keep track of all those ideas and projects that are constantly on my mind.
You seem to have many ideas and projects and I'm not sure you'll ever be able to turn off your head. I for one, do appreciate all of them; they are quite inspirational.!
Cheers~
