Square Mandalas

Technically it's the paper that is square, not the mandalas, but working in a square format is really different for me than working in my 5x8" moleskine journal for mandalas. I actually like the uneven rectangular shaped page because it works well with my irregular, chaotic mandalas. I did this one in black PITT pen extra super fine (XS) with highlights in purple micron (005). The colors of this mandala are that of the Black.Violet series I did this spring.
The paper is dreamy. It's Clairefontaine 300g cold-pressed watercolor paper in an 8x8" wirebound journal (available at Writers Bloc). A lovely hearty journal with a very thick back page so that the journal doesn't bend while you are drawing.

Your swirls are so pretty and so dainty! I don't think I've come across the micron's in such small nibs. Very pretty mandala!
Gorgeous and very unique! Hugs, Terri xoxo
