Snowflake Love Mandala

“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen."
Leonardo da Vinci

5x8" watercolor moleskine, pitt pen.

Drawn mid-December at a coffee shop before having to pick up the kids. Inspired by a paper snowflake someone had cut out and hung in the coffee shop window. The idea is a mandala with no defined center. The first thing I drew - the four inner hearts - an open center.

What if today, you draw a doodle or design or pattern inspired by something you can see while you are drawing? Anything from a gum wrapper to an empty mug to the way the sun is shining through the blinds.
