This is a photo of our pool taken this morning. The water is hovering between 32 and 34 degrees F. The filter runs constantly, attempting to keep the water moving. This is the icy waterfall on the retaining wall. This is a first! Last night, ambient temps dropped to about 17 degrees. The kids had a snow day this week when they closed our little Montessori due to icy roads. In Pennsylvania, the roads are salted fairly efficiently. Here in North Texas, they put gravel on the bridges and it barely helps.

WOW! I knew that you'd been experiencing a cold snap, but I had no idea it's been soooooo cold. Here in North Jersey we've been in a deep freeze too, but we're prepared for it. Stay inside and stay warm! Hugs, Terri xoxo
I imagine that the weather is really something when you are not used to it.
Last week we had snow for 116 hours continuous and below zero temps so it is just another day for us.
Our schools rarely close much to the dismay of my kids.
Snow days are when you bake bread! up here.
Hope it warms up soon.
Terri + Carol, I hope it didn't seem like I was b*tching about the weather, it's more that I am astounded at seeing ice in the pool! I lived in PA most of my life, so I know that type of winter. Schools close here because the maintenance folks are not equipped for super cold. Driving is dangerous (no salt on roads, drivers who think they know how to drive in snow as they switch lanes while they speed up round the curve). I wish you a warm week full of yummy treats. ~ Tammy
