Plant a Happy Garden

"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment.
My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams.
The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful."
~Abram Urban

11x15" loose art journal page on watercolor paper, gelly rolls, black gesso

The gesso sat as a swatch of black, for a few days. Then I added the mandala, and gave some thought about what to write... a list!

The idea behind this art journal page is that we can plant our own happiness by doing things today that will improve our lives tomorrow. Like cultivating friendships, saying "no" to a boring business reception for work, planting Tulips for spring blooms, planning a wonderfully warm + cozy dinner, putting the dishes in the dishwasher so the sink will be fresh and clean in the morning... traveling to new lands on paper or on foot, singing to ABBA in our car while in traffic, putting up a turquoise paint chip on your inspiration board... I'm not so good at all of this, but I know it is important.

I love the idea of planting a happy garden and have just started my list of inspiration.

You've no idea how often I've said to my children, "Plant the seeds!" You never know what will grow as a result. Love that black gesso - so dramatic! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Tammy! Hugs, Terri xoxo
