plant a garden, in your journal

pages from the noticing journal, a book altered into an art journal
A page about the garden, thinking about how I designed it with flowering perennials so that there would be flowers all year and good fall foliage in the trees. It's the Pennsylvania girl missing all four seasons - we get such a tiny spring and fall here, all taken over by too-hot summers. I love flowers, love seeing lots of flowers together, different textures and colors and heights. But I am not very good about pruning the garden. I used to be, but using cutting shears is a delicate balance for me between a lovely garden and an injured thumb/wrist. So it's a bit wild in some areas. The background was painted in purple with the golden rectangle in mind, which is supposed to be pleasing to the eye.

I love how you "framed" the purple background with the white space on the pages. The placement of all the images reminds of Mahjong tiles. :)
Very very nice!!! Love the lay-out and the "plant a garden in your journal" idea...
