Piñata

“Celebration when your plan is working? Anyone can do that. But when you realize that the story of your life could be told a thousand different ways, that you could tell it over and over as a tragedy, but you choose to call it an epic, that's when you start to learn what celebration is. When what you see in front of you is so far outside of what you dreamed, but you have the belief, the boldness, the courage to call it beautiful instead of calling it wrong, that's celebration.”

Piñata, 9.5 x 12" Clairefontaine acrylic pad; Golden fluid acrylics

Do you have any artwork that you made a long time ago, something you want to try again?

today = some day

I worked on this and worked it and worked it more, throughout the holiday break when I had free moments. The process I use is to paint all the sections simultaneously, one color at a time. Because acrylics dry so quickly if you put a drop of 10 different colors on your palette they will be dry and sticky (tacky) shortly. So I mix a color, use that color, mix the next, etc. I waited until the very end to decide what to put in the box. I'd been considering a little mandala but in the end decided on the word WISH.

I'm using the Golden fluid acrylics, lush and saturated and pure wonderfulness.

Amazing! How did you make the dots with such precision? You did a remarkable job with this piece. I'm a huge fan of bright colors and yours is executed beautifully.

{Tammy}: Raine, the piece was painted with a small round brush and a bit with a small dagger brush. Thank you for your comment, it made my day!
