No Frills Prompt 12: MEASURE

New creative prompts that are simple, flexible and fully customizable. These prompts are useful for creatives from collage artists to photographers to art journalists.

this old meter measures degrees centigrade

Like all of the prompts in this series, this is easy peasy! You can respond in whatever way you wish, but do create something in words or images. The photograph and the word MEASURE can be used together or separately. Go for a quick interpretation... see the intro for help.

♦ make a hand carved eraser stamp of a thermometer or ruler.

♦ paint an art journal background using pantone 350 and pantone 458 and pantone 5787. That's dark grayish bluish green, light amber yellow and grayish olive lime.

♦ set your timer for 12 minutes and write a list of things in your life that you measure in some way in a typical month. Your bank balance, the height of your horse, spoons of coffee beans, your productivity, heart rate, etc.

♦ photograph 10 meters or measuring devices.

♦ what is a measure of your happiness?

What a great prompt Tammy! I think I'll carve me a ruler... and then write about how I " measure" stuff! Have a great week!

Hooray for another set of ideas! I think I might do the art journal background one, and maybe pair it with the measure/thermometer to include in the "subject of the page"... hummm.

Definitely food for thought, Tammy! Great prompts! Hugs, Terri xoxo

I finally got my act together and answered my first prompt for 2011! Thanks for the inspiration, Tammy - it was particularly timely.

Made a page Tammy and carved me a stamp (backwards, but still...!) Fine it here:

By the way - congrats on your Zibbet shop! Yeah!
