    {Misc Update}

    We're on vacation without a way to upload photos from my camera until later in the week {unless I figure out how to do it with my phone, but I am heat- and technologically-impaired this week} so I wanted to give you an update.

    I'm using index cards to plan a creative writing /art journaling class that I hope to teach after-school once each week at my kids' school. It will be for 3rd - 7th graders. So any suggestions or advice for how to combine these two concepts in a good format are welcome! I think some kids will veer more to writing and some to art/paint, so I want it to be very flexible.

    We won't have a fresh new Mr. Linky update until next week (forgot the password to set it up) so please go ahead and add an a new link to last Friday's Linky Update!!!

    Also, I am trying to get a good count of how many people are doing ICAD at this point in time, so if you are doing ICAD on a regular basis (remember you can skip one day per week) could you kindly add a quick comment?

    Each night I've been writing in my little stitched travel journal {here's the one I took with me} + drawing mandalas + doodling in the hotel room.

    Hi Daisy,

    I am doing the icad challenge and just about keeping up although not so good on getting things up on flickr etc but I will do the Mr. Linky thing this week. Thanks for all your inspiration. This is a great project and I am having a lot of fun doing just a little each day. Hope you are having a great holiday.

    I'm ICAD'ing right along too, just not uploading. I have found that I cannot skip one day per week or it leads to more, so I am doing one every day and LOVING it! Such a great change of artistic pace for me (normally a quilter) and the summer. Thanks for hosting! Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

    I am faithfully doing my ICADs, though started a bit late in June...was surprised that not everyone seemed to be posting on the Mr. Linky~~ I think there must be more people doing this challenge than the Linky indicates! I am enjoying the challenge immensely!

    I've been doing a page a day in my little notebook since June 1, minus one day missed due to migraines. I really enjoy trying to come up with something different every day and getting inspiration from the other participants.

    I've done a card every day since I started, which was June 4th, I think. I've only done a few of the Mr Linky things, but I do post to flickr every other day or so.

    Only a fraction of the people playing along with ICAD were doing the Mr. Linky updates. If I look at the members of the flickr group, those tweeting #icad, and comments here there are a lot of folks taking part. Every so often, if you could link into Daisy Yellow that would help too, but certainly not required!

    We've definitely started something!!!!!

    Do you know Diana Trout? She teaches teens and children, I believe. She wrote http://www.amazon.com/Journal-Spilling-Mixed-Media-Techniques-Expression/dp/1600613195. She is a friend of mine and I am sure she could give you some ideas for your class. Tell her I sent ya!

    I've been going strong with the ICAD challenge since June 1st, and intend to keep going even after it ends, but maybe not every day. I find the index cards are a great size to experiment with technique before I commit an idea to a journal page or canvas.

    I hope that you have a wonderful vacation! I love the ICAD challenge, which I have translated into my Sketch A Day. I plan to continue after your challenge ends, working on strengthening those artistic muscles! Thanks so much for all the inspiration and for starting this challenge.

    i have been doing icad since june 13 but have never linked or posted to flickr. it is challenge enough just to get the card done! thanks for the prompts and the idea itself. <3
