So you know I have this healthy addiction obsession interest in maps. I adore maps of all types. Teeny weeny architectural floor plans, city grids, metro maps, garden maps, amusement park maps. This was inspired by tourist maps, where neighborhoods are shown in different colors.
First I drew a grid of neocolors II wax crayons, then stitched a grid to separate the boxes and then painted with water. Tthis is a natural extension of my curiosity and intrigue with maps. If you love mixed media maps, you'll find inspiration galore in Personal Geographies: Explorations in Mixed-Media Mapmaking by Jill Berry.
