Mandala: Watercolor Compass

While the girls were happily immersed in watercoloring & giggling with a friend during a recent play date, I painted a layered mandala with a set of travel watercolors in my favorite 5x8" watercolor moleskine journal... it reminds me of this watercolor mandala and this neocolor mandala.

beautiful ! I am really interested in finding out how one gets started in drawing mandalas? my kids and I have done zendalas, but I would love to try mandalas..how did you get started?
