Magic Roses

“Love is like a batik created from many emotional colors,
it is a fabric whose pattern and brightness may vary.
Diane Ackerman

I took this shot this evening at that hour when the light is almost blue, the magic hour in the evening before dusk. These roses were originally planted at our old house in 1999, and we actually transplanted them to our current house.

The rose bush grows in front of the dining room windows. To get the sun behind these particular roses, I had to take the screen out of the window and take the photo from inside the house!

I'm taking an art workshop for the next several days. The focus thus far is hand lettering and nature journaling, lots of fun. It's the first time I've done art {sort of} with other people who get into pens as much as I do.
