Kid's Rosebud Journal

front cover with journaling block

old yellow payroll accounting paper from my dad's attic, bubble wrap stamped paper

in pink, an extra ATC I made during Hanna's mail art swap, a house doodle

back cover, pink jean fabric from toddlerhood
My daughter (who will be 11 in a matter of days) wanted to do the sewing on my next journal. Of course! She grabbed the pile of papers I'd collected and took the controls. She whizzed through the journal, adding paper, turning, stitching, folding, cutting, zip, zap. I handed her scraps of cardstock, maps, words, etc. and most were declined as she dug through scrapbook paper for her own picks... in the end, a combination of our choices, with lovely and unique stitching. My daughter named it "rosebud" for the paper on the front cover. The funny thing, she is not interested in writing in it, just making it!
Yay!!! Daisy Yellow is one of the Top 20 Art Blogs for Educators at Online Degrees, a new research site.
