Espresso Rings

“Writing is a job, a talent,
but it's also the place
to go in your head.
It is the imaginary friend
you drink your tea with
in the afternoon.”
― Ann Patchett

poured the "puck" of espresso on the page, smashed it around, major puddles

Coffee as ink, yummy. The color is beyond words.

My esposo made over-the-edge-wicked espresso this weekend so I did what any sane person would do, I made espresso rings with the cute white espresso cups. When life gives you limes, make potato latkes.

Envision these pages cut into art journal collage fodder... or art journal backgrounds... or digital textures....

Love this! My DH leaves half the pot when he makes coffee. Now I can put the leftovers to good use.

✭✭✭ {Tammy}: Kim, the dregs, you know, the bottom gritty stuff is super cool for texture. Wishing you lots of leftover coffee for your art (we must have our priorities).

So wonderful! I love the patterns the coffee rings made...great idea :-)

✭✭✭ {Tammy}: Lara, Thank you! I love them too! And the color is divine, with slight variations depending on the roast.

This is gorgeous and I bet it smells pretty good too!

✭✭✭ {Tammy}: Fiddlesnips, How funny you should mention the scent of the pages because I checked that today and they smell very definitely of espresso, a little bitter and strong.

I've always loved the look of a coffee ring that inadvertently gets on my book or my paper. I buy these little packets of instant coffee in case I get stuck with no coffee while I'm traveling. I seldom use them, and then they go bad. Now I know what I can do with them instead of throwing them out! Thanks for the idea.
