    EDM #3: Draw a Backpack or Purse

    5x8" watercolor moleskine, slicci pen

    {click to see the watercolored version}

    The text begins, "This is my blue backpack. It's been many places - and carried many important things." I set the empty backpack on the breakfast table and leaned it on some books to be somewhat upright. The folds were difficult to document, as it was somewhat folded in upon itself. I'm working through Danny Gregory's EDM drawing list. The idea is explained here, and all of the drawings are tagged EDM Challenge.

    yah, right, just what I needed (not) - another challenge.. BUT... this is soooo challenging and, like you, I need to practice drawing. I WANT to practice drawing. I just looked at the challenges 1,2,3 (didn't dare to look further on the list... I saw in a glimpse that they go up to 328... that's over a year of every day drawing - are YOU going to do that Tammy? Anyway, I decide right here and right now that I will step in and start drawing a shoe. To begin with. See where it ends. Oh, and it's your foult Tammy, shame on you to pull me into this by posting such lovely drawings yourself and giving the link ;)

    I have been reading on and off about people doing the EDM challenges. But I just wanted to let you know, seeing your posts the last couple of days really made me want to try too! So thank you. I did my first challenge this morning and posted it on my blog. Thanks for the motivation! <3

    @marit: Always happy to spark your creativity, and no, not guilty in the least bit. I don't see why we shouldn't draw 320+ things? I think the collection in the end will be quite amazing to review, to see the progress in our lines.

    @angie: I think that Danny starting the entire challenge again, after many years, really sparked my interest. I love knowing that it is a worthwhile endeavor. I know from my doodles that drawing every single day really makes a difference in the quality of my lines.

    @Tammy - Oh I agree, every bit of practice in drawing or really any type of art form lends itself well to becoming better at whatever your own specialty is. I think it is awesome he is starting over. I mean, actually, how cool would that be? to complete a year and then either right away or a few years later do the same challenges again. To compare side by side would be interesting to see how far you have come.
