11x15" art journal page, watercolor paper, acrylic, gesso, neocolors, eraser stamps.

just in case you were curious why CREATE is stamped backwards in stamping ink {let me know if you get this joke}

my box of eraser stamps

DISCOVERY:::::  Paint something with acrylics, and while the paint is still wet, press an eraser stamp into the paint so it's completely flat. Carefully pull off the stamp and... you'll see the reverse impression (the negative space on the original stamp) remain in acrylic paint, and the part of the stamp that usually makes the impression will actually push away the paint and the color underneath will show through. Yes, you could certainly just pop your stamp in acrylic paint and then press, but it wouldn't be as clean and crisp.

Love, love, love the texture it creates!

To cut an eraser stamp, all you need is an exacto knife and an eraser. I use the staedler erasers, about 50 cents each at Target. Lots of info + links about making eraser stamps in Carving Stamps.

I get the joke, lol! I spent over an hour or so carving (with a dremel) on a steel "makers stamp" for my leatherwork. It looked real good, and I was really proud of it, then when I used it, I realized I carved it forward instead of backwards... >.< Never did carve another one, lol...

Love your box of eraser stamps! I bought some erasers at the dollar store recently, but haven't tried to do it yet. I don't have anything but an exacto knife to use to carve them. What do you use?

Chris and Maggie, I'm glad you got the joke ~ I could reverse it in Photoshop but that wouldn't be as funny! And even funnier (or more ridiculous) is that I've made several others incorrectly!!!

Terri, This is going to be the least expensive art supply purchase (other than index cards:>). I get a 4-pack of good quality white erasers at Target for about $2.

Andria, What a coincidence... I use an old and not necessarily accurate exacto knife. That's all you need. Just be careful!!! I will add that to the post.
