Design-a-Doodle #3: [aka Using Photoshop Filters to Design Patterns]

Flower shop at the grocery.

Finding the swirlie edges of the flowers with the Photoshop Glowing Edges filter. In this case, this filter helped me find the pattern I liked most.

Finding the lines in the petals with the Photoshop Ink Outlines filter.

This is the photo above with a Photshop High Pass filter to sharpen, plus desaturation.

Cropping the lower left corner of the photo to focus on the three pots. Here I used the Photoshop Find Edges filter, with a little saturation.

I started by drawing the three pots. Looked around within each of the filtered photographs for something to latch onto for a pattern. Played with different repeats, different ways to draw the designs. The winner is a collection of little amoebas with wiggly centers, inspired by the second photo.
Isn't this fun?
