    Creative Radar

"Another year is fast approaching. Go be that starving artist you’re afraid to be. Open up that journal and get poetic finally. Volunteer. Suck it up and travel. You were not born here to work and pay taxes. You were put here to be part of a vast organism to explore and create. Stop putting it off. The world has much more to offer than what’s on 15 televisions at TGI Fridays. Take pictures. Scare people. Shake up the scene. "
    Jason Mraz

I made a list of artsy stuff I wanted to do late last year (stamped on index cards, of course). This is a refresher. I think it makes sense ot look at this every few months. These are not resolutions. There is always some period of time in front of you, time to do creative stuff - so to think in advance about what you want to learn, what you want to try, what you want to buy, makes sense.

Most importantly, I will continue writing my "3 good things" list every night before going to sleep. I did this almost every night of 2011 and it has helped immensely, in seeing things more positively.

Here's what I'd like to do...

    1. Draw mandalas + cityscapes
    2. Paint on canvas
    3. Make art journal pages
    4. Continue experimenting with photography in my art journal pages
    5. Experiment with varied focus in photography
    6. Develop 2 new art journaling workshops on Daisy Yellow
    7. Make 2 zines
    8. Teach a creative writing class at my daughters' school
    9. Sew daisy journals + little quirky art quilts
    10. Learn a basic journal binding technique
    11. Help my daughters make blurb books with their stories
    12. Frame some of my daughters' artwork
    13. Make a blurb book of my art
    14. Sell prints of my artwork
    15. Get a fountain pen and experiment
    16. Do some monthly GPP Street Team Crusades
    17. Do CED2012 and AEDM2012 with Creative Every Day
    18. Read 25 books {my 2012 Book List}

What do you want to do? What do you want to learn? What do you want to buy?

What a great exercise - no wonder you were able to write a long list of what you'd achieved!! And no wonder there is always such a creative treasure trove to see and read about on your blog.

Wonderful list! I might have to 'borrow' a couple of those.

A list (or index cards) is great idea. I'm becoming afraid that I have too many ideas, challenges and projects on the go....

Oh how I love that post. Struggling a little just lately with energy and it being sapped by my work and bad habits. Your blog, as always, reminds me of what I so badly need to do. It's very hard to do so when you are only just surviving financially(plus whatever talents I may have feel so scattered and unfocused). But if not now then when? Just need to work out how. Loving your list. it reminds me to stop and take stock of how the year has started so far and where I might want it to go next. Blessings. xx
