Welcome to the eighth set of creative experiments for 2011. The idea behind the experiments is to explore {scary}. Play off things you already know how to do; explore and learn without letting go of the familiar. This month, a very short set of experiments in the hopes that you will take just a bit of time and do all of them!
Please go forth, experiment, and report back in the comments.

For tracking purposes, each experiment is valued at one creativity point unless otherwise noted.
♥ pinterested. Explore how people divide and categorize the images they like at pinterest. Teresa has a board for stars, I have a board for bicycles, Julie has a board for quotes, Dawn collects stuff in her doodling board. How do you categorize your creative inspiration? Leave a comment and let me know.
♥ mail art. Create mail art and mail it to someone or pin it to your inspiration board or fridge. If you have perused Good Mail Day by Jennie Hinchcliff, you'll never quite look at mail the same way again! Find mail art inspiration at this pinterest board and links galore at my post Mail Art!
♥ inspiration board. Create an inspiration board. Check out my pinterest board for ideas and read the incredible interviews on Lori's Inspiration Boards {the blog is no longer updated, but there is a weath of good info here}. Your board could be as simple as a cork board leaning on your office wall, with 11 pinned images, index cards with quotes, whatever you want it to be, maybe a wire strung across the wall in a hallway or across a mantlepiece, with clipped pieces of artwork or photographs. {Nathalie's mosaic of the pages in her gorgeous travel journal!}
Are you in? Grab an ART=HAPPY badge, and get started on the experiments.
Check out all of the creative experiments!

great list of experiments. I suddenly feel inspired to do some mail art as I lie ill in bed here :( Experimenting is what makes me tick anyway hence the fact I call my e-course the experimental art e-course - such wonderful things are discovered through experimentation.
Off to follow you now and thanks again!

Love mail art and I am headed out on a little trip next week. Sounds like a great place to start. And then the inspiration board, and then... Oh, excited!
I LOVE the book Good Mail Day, and have bookmarked the Pinterest board and your mail art post so I can come back to them again and again. Gorgeous stuff!
I made a mosaic! An inspiration board with the spreads in my travel journal that I've finished last week. It's here : http://nathalienayer.blogspot.com/2011/09/inspiration-board.html. Hope it inspires you as much as your prompts inspire me!!!
I started to organise my Pinterest-groups into "crochet", "embroidery", "Life" for example. But now those are getting quite big and perhaps I could/should reaarrange the links in to smaller groups... Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions how I can change it? I go by the name anda76 on Pinterest by the way. :o)
Anna, I know that you can "repin" pins from your own boards onto other boards which is indeed pretty clunky to do, but perhaps there is something in the FAQ about dividing boards up. Then again, you could just start "crochet II" etc?
