Creative Experiments 2011.rev.5
Tue, May 31, 2011 at 10:00AM
Welcome to the fifth set of creative experiments for 2011. The idea behind the experiments is to explore and be creative in new ways {it can be scary}. Play off things you already know how to do; explore and learn without letting go of the familiar.
The June challenge begins today. Here's how it works!
- Decide how many Experiments you want to do, this is your personal goal
- Work toward your personal goal
- During the month, post your progress in the comments of this post
- Go grab an ART=HAPPY badge and spread the word

For tracking purposes, each experiment is valued at one creativity point unless otherwise noted.
❐ MICRO Write a micro-story in 140 words or less. Include the words cactus, stapler, scarf, apron, sing.
❐ CAFFEINE Sketch your coffee mug.
❐ PETALS As you try to fall asleep one night, come up with 100 things to do with a rose just clipped from the garden. Consider all of the parts of the flower {you can take it apart} and the fresh flower as well as its dried form. In the morning, see if you remember the number you were at when you fell asleep!
❐ MAIL Read the book Good Mail Day for inspiration, and decorate the next envelope you send to a friend.
❐ GOOFY Write the "about the author" jacket blurb for an autobiography written by your dog or cat.
❐ JUXTAPOSITION Draw a line through the middle of a journal page (horizontally or vertically). On one side, doodle with only straight lines, angles, triangles, squares. No curves. On the other side, doodle with only curves, circles, arcs. No straight lines.
Check out all of the creative experiments!
Pop over to I am Rushmore and The Sounding Sea for some completed experiments!
