Creative Experiments 2011.rev.4
Daisy Yellow

For tracking purposes, each experiment is valued at one creativity point unless otherwise noted.

Welcome to the fourth set of creative experiments for 2011. Report back when you finish the ones you picked, and I'll link to your post.

<games re-play> Pick one of your favorie games and re-design from scratch. Leave no rules unturned. No assumptions intact. A round monopoly board? Edible Parchesi pieces? Carved carrot checkers discs? Get inspired by this Scrabble redesign. Options include sketching the game in colored pencils, writing a description of the redesigned game, or creating an art journal page inspired by the new idea.

<interview adrenalin> Interview someone in person, using a voice recorder or writing notes as they speak. Prepare by writing the questions in advance, a minimum of 3 questions. Interview your aunt, your daughter, a teacher, an artist, a barrista, a librarian, you get the idea. Post the interview on your blog, or write about the experience in the comments below. The idea is to focus on what YOU learn about yourself in this process.

<perspective> Walk around your house and photograph 10 things from out-of-the-ordinary perspectives or angles. The view as you walk in through the back door, looking in through a window, the sky through a window, above the cans of soup in the pantry, the disorganized hangers in your closet. The light might not be great, so concentrate on the subject, angle and composition more than the light.

<switcheroo> Change one of the materials you use in your artwork. Knit something with cotton yarn. Draw on square paper. Switch lime for lemon in a recipe. Use brush markers to doodle. Art journal in watercolors.

<dagwood> Create art inspired by the food of the city where you were born or grew up. In Pittsburgh, the most famous sandwiches in the city are served with fries inside.

Check out all of the creative experiments!

Dear Tammy,
I got super inspired by the perspective prompt. During a 24 hours shift at the hospital last week, I've photographed interesting details! It's not really my home but some weeks, it feels like it is. It's here : http://nathalienayer.blogspot.com/2011/04/life-is-all-about-perspective.html
