Creative Experiments 2011.rev.3

Welcome to the third set of creative experiments for 2011. The idea behind the experiments is to explore. But that can be scary! By playing off things you already know how to do, you can explore and learn without letting go of the familiar.

For tracking purposes, each experiment is valued at one creativity point unless otherwise noted.

Experiment with papercutting. Grab some copy paper and make snowflakes or grab some black paper and pop over to That Artist Woman to learn how to create Wycinanki (Polish Paper Cutouts).

Create Your Own Experiment. Come up with an idea, post the IDEA on your blog, and leave your link in the comments. I'll move the link to this spot, and others can pop around looking for ideas!!!

IDEA MAKERS: {your name could be here} --> Nathalie

Reverse Art Journaling. If you usually add words last, add them first. If you usually paint a background of bubble wrap dots, add that last. Build your page in reverse order.

Experiment. Alter your medium. i.e. if you embroider - try embroidering on paper, if you doodle - go out and sketch a building at lunch hour, if you art journal in acrylics - use watercolors.

Editorialize. Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper or magazine, on-line or print. PS. Studies show that women's voices are heard less frequently in editorial sections.

So, kiddos, grab an ART=HAPPY badge, and get started on the experiments you choose.

Check out all of the creative experiments!

[I ask respectfully that you do not copy/paste the experiments to your site, as excited as you are to do them. The content is copyright Daisy Yellow. Please link back to the list if you wish and of course post your experiments to share.]

INTERPRETATIONS:  The Sounding Sea (papercutting).

I did the Wycinanki papercutting! This was so much fun, and I like that she does Early Childhood conferences, because I am in school to be an early childhood teacher! I am definitely saving this page! Very cool!
