Coffee Talks

A good friend and I sat in a dark corner of our favorite coffee shop and chatted over creamy white mugs of cafe latte. This shop, where indie artists display their work, is magical. The owners have crafted a neighborhood cafe with the feel of a jazz bar.

Taking time out to talk with a friend matters. If you have any doubts, listen to the moving essay by author Kelly Corrigan entitled, "Transcending: Words on Women and Strength." Kelly's book The Middle Place... is one of the Books I Might Actually Read in 2009.

I'm joining the fun at Family of Five by sharing something to celebrate each day of the week. For Monday, it's coffee in a cafe with a friend. Can you find something simple to celebrate today?
