Camera Games | Light Play #2
Sat, January 23, 2010 at 09:00AM
The girls put on a light show and I photographed their endeavor (see Light Play #1). The next night, the girls excitedly asked to play with lights again. They were just wired about the idea. So I set up the Nikon D90 this time on the tripod to see if the results were improved. The camera was set at Speed priority at a super slow speed (I think about 3 seconds). The girls twirled, swirled, drew, and wiggled the flashlight to create images with light. The little one (almost 8) manned the camera for awhile, and the big one (10) took her turn as well. That way I got a chance to play too.

This looks so fun!
This is something I've been wanting to try. I keep seeing great long-exposure photos... I need to look into it. Looks like such fun!
* Terri, The saturated pure color is really amazing. A very fun discovery.
* organicsyes and Shanda Panda, Thank you for saying hello! My daughters are still talking about photographing light, it made a huge impression on them.
* Amy, It's really a game changer, opening your eyes to the possibilities of long-exposure photography. In the back of my mind, I am thinking of other things to film. Thanks for visiting!
