building a rainbow {5 days of color}: pale pink or salmon

[PAGE DOWN to ADD YOUR LINK to THE LINKY LOVE]

We're building a rainbow!!!

{the details are here in this post}

Create art in one color each day this week: an art journal page, a sketch, a doodle, a painting, a mixed media work, embroidery, crochet.

Here's where you go to add a link to your art for each color - there are linky lovies on each page.

DECEMBER 8: PALE PINK or SALMON

DECEMBER 9: LEMON YELLOW or CHARTREUSE

DECEMBER 10: PERIWINKLE or LAVENDER

DECEMBER 11: BROWN or GREY

DECEMBER 12:  RAINBOW!!!

Let's Get Started with Pale Pink!

{To get motivated to use pale pink in your artwork I refer you to a post I did early in my blog adventures, called Color Series, Inspired by Pink}

{photographic credits at flickr}

Soft pinks are restrained, requiring a light hand and the ability to hold yourself back from dipping your #10 brush in the mangenta too many times. It requires a bit of dilution. A bit of grey or black or blue to calm down. A bit of desaturation. Restraint. This is incredibly hard for me!

SALMON!

{our color hostess today is Jazmin! What fun is in store for you at the intro to SALMON (the color, not the fish, at Syrens Idyll?}

salmon artwork, 5x8" moleskine, stamping ink, eraser stamps, pitt pen

the background is stamped with eraser stamps my daughter and i made this week, and then smeared with color using little cats eye stamp pads {aimee of artsyville created this cool way of doing backgrounds with stamping ink, see the tutorial at artsyville}

Please post your link(s) to your artwork in PALE PINK and your artwork in SALMON (you can link twice, if they are in separate posts), as we add funky colors to our rainbow. {please link to the exact post, not the blog home page}

I'm so glad to be building another rainbow with you all. It's a great way to get started when sitting down to work!

I am really enjoying seeing what each color host shares. Love the pale pink mandala. I finally drew my first one a few days ago.

My first post in my new blog . Thank you Tammy for hosting such fun challenges.
