Batik & Plaid Backgrounds
Wed, August 26, 2009 at 01:00AM Saturated color. Everywhere.
Detail of the page above... the full page was scanned, the detail was photographed hence the color differences..

A (sort of) plaid page...

Detail of the page above... envision as an ATC.
9" x 12" heavy back cover from a watercolor pad
These pages were created with a brayer, fluid acrylics and matte medium. The paint on the batik page was placed in gobs and then rolled the brayer horizontally or vertically. The paint on the plaid page was applied as in Plaid Backgrounds with Acrylics. I like the details of the pages a great deal, so I might cut them into either ephemera for art journaling or cut this abstract art into 1.5" x 2.5" artist trading cards.
