Art Journal: Escape
Fri, March 13, 2009 at 07:14AM
Yesterday I was excited to have a few hours to do art during the day in yummy daylight... The rainbow background of this 9 x 12" collage was painted with fluid acrylics on watercolor paper. Collaged images and ephemera include a list of things that make me happy, a 35mm slide case and fabric. I liked focusing the collage on the center of the page to allow the edge of vivid acrylics to enhance the images.
What makes me happy {beyond family}? Coffee with a friend, paisleys, art journals, blank moleskines, saturated color, vintage fabric, fresh peaches, phlox blooming, beautifully illustrated children's books, Flickr favorites, reading... when was the last time you wrote a list of what makes you happy? Check out Happiness Instructions, Lists: Journal Triggers and Kick-Start Your Art Journal (Part 2).
Enjoy your day! Do something different, just for you, just for fun.

Your quickly becoming one of my favorite blogs. The colors are marvelous. I know if I could touch your collage, it would be full of wonderful texture.
