Art Journal: Collection

A productive morning of collage therapy, resulting in lots of collages to use for experiments...
- Made a collage in a wire-bound watercolor pad
- Painted a layer of white gesso on the collage with a wet sponge
- Painted randomly with Golden fluid acrylics, fully saturated color or thinned with matte medium.... {at this point, I was sure I had ruined it but then gesso to the rescue}
- Another layer of gesso.
- Edged with charcoal pencil and neocolors {learned that charcoal pencil basically gives everything a greyish look, I much prefer neocolors}
- Ready for journaling... or further embellishment...
This page is one of 6 Collages 6 Ways.
A collage is a fun way to start an art journaling page, just think of it as your base or first layer. Then you can embellish or alter it:
- Altered Book: The Road ~ painted with acrylic medium
- Art Journal: Enjoy ~ add a quote and decorate with neocolors
- Art Journal: Sunflower Kaleidoscope ~ paint a picture on top
- Altered Catalog: 3 Dots ~ embellish with acrylics and neocolors
---> You can see the final version of this art journaling page at Art Journal: Collection v1.2.
