Altered Book: Stitching Photos
Tue, April 3, 2012 at 04:00AM “Strange as it may seem, I still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be lost so easily.”
― Lemony Snicket

A pair of pages from the noticing journal {altered hardback turned journal} with golden airbrush acrylics, fluid acrylics, a moo stamp, photographs from the pogo printer, washi tape. I stitched two photos at once, using a sewing machine needle and embroidery floss. This DMC floss has a metallic sheen, very pretty. This is not the recommended route! It was the only needle i could find without going upstairs and i paid for my laziness by working in the strangest way... the eye is at the almost tip, and the back of the needle is square!

Your needle challenge makes me smile . . . fortunately or not- I think I have needles in every room- this is not really a good thing . . . .a project house I live in. Also have resistors, LEDs and transistors for sons creative interests in most rooms . . . . Happy Spring to You!
Looks like a sewing machine needle -- pretty hard to use by hand! But your stitching came out just fine.
the photos you take for your blog posts are always so stunning. "Improve photography skills" is in my creative queue, but I think it's way down at the bottom.
Really like the idea of handstitching in the journal (though, hehe not with a machine needle) so far I've only done machine stitching and glued the pieces in. @iamrushmore - doesn't have to be at the bottom, or a major undertaking - just take more pictures! Practice makes ... better ;-)
