Altered Book: purple.blue rev 2.0

Is it OK to absolutely love your art journal? This book, this art journal. I love the look and feel, the textures, the colors, the quotes, I'm so happy with it! This quote inspires me (I would say "resonates" but... that's not my lingo), and it is something I am so guilty of... thinking about something, imagining it happening, yet not taking action. Lists. I make lists of things to do, pros and cons, the steps in a project. At work, I liked developing and tweaking and sorting and prioritizing the elaborate project plans (for process redesign) more than carrying out the plans. Right now there are a bunch of "wishes" swirling around my head, yet I don't take action. How do you kick yourself into higher gear?

You can see the original pages at purple.blue rev 1.1.

I just started reading your blog and wanted to say hi, I really enjoy it! That journal page is great, I love all the colors. I agree with you about art journal pages not having to have a special meaning all the time, they can just be random and spontaneous.

If a person doesn't love their journal, there isn't much point in keeping one, methinks.

So yes, my all means, love your journal! (And I love this one too - gorgeous colors and textures - delicious!).

Tammy, if you fine the illusive answer to kicking it into higher gear, please, please let me know!!! Hugs, Terri xoxoxo

PS Your art journal is AMAzing!

What a RICH and VIBRANT page!! Love the white lettering! Sometimes I sit with a piece a little while, then a few days later, I will get an idea. I keep the piece somewhere where I can see it but not feel "forced" to work on it....My higher gear is more that I get a feeling of NOT doing something on a page, and being patient for the GO signal! Does that make sense? Also, like the thought about not every page has to be a masterpiece, so true, so true!!

I LOVE your art journal too Tammy. The middle image of the texture makes me want cuddle it against my cheek. Schyyy, don't tell anyone, ok?

Tammy - Great depth and texture in your art journal pages - really love this! Am getting into art journaling myself and once you get past the things holding you back it is so freeing.
