Abstract Backgrounds with Airbrush Acrylics

“I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Have you painted with chopsticks? So easy and fun. Check out this 3 1/2 minute video.

Find more pages painted with a chopstick in this altered book.

This is the book I'm altering, with golden airbrush colors (aka airbrush acrylics)

Awesome!!! A dreary rainy day made sunnier by Daisy yellow! Our house loves Sushi so lots of chopsticks we have to play with. Thanks as always!

LOVE it! Looks like such a fun way to paint! Must try as soon as I get a chance!

Would this work with thinned acrylics? No airbrush paint here.

wow! i love that, it looks so fun. i love marbled paint and this sort of gives that look. also wondering if another medium would work. airbrush paints are not in my budget.

{Tammy}: All: I think it would work fine with thinned fluid acrylics {fluid acrylics with fluid matte medium). The result would be less opaque and you might have to wipe the chopstick every so often as you work. The fluid acrylics dry a little faster than the airbrush acrylics.

Thanks Tammy. I will try with the acrylics and matte medium as soon as I get the sewing project off my table.

snarky? snarky comments on Twitter?

I kind of like snarky....

hmmmm maybe I will have to sign up....

ps. I made a trip to Michaels today and bought about 10 bottles of airbrush paint - I told you that you got me all inspired and stuff - can't wait to play with it....

{Tammy}: We'll be using airbrush acrylics (without the airbrush) in the new workshop!
