A Book Giveaway!

A first! A book giveaway, something simple and lovely. A few weeks ago, I bought One-Yard Wonders: 101 Sewing Fabric Projects; Look How Much You Can Make with Just One Yard of Fabric! by Yaker and Hoskins.

I read this sewing book from cover to cover in a day. It's a lovely hardback book with beautiful photographs. I cannot verify that there are actually 101 projects but there are a bunch of fun ideas for just a yard of fabric. The examples in the book use gorgeous fabrics and there are even patterns in an unopened little pocket.

But. My sewing skills are so new that I don't envision getting the use and pleasure out of this book that might be possible if I knew what I was doing. So I thought I would gift this to one of you to spark some pattern love.

To enter the very first official Daisy Yellow giveaway, please leave your name in the comments and your email addy in the little box that asks for it so that I can get in touch with you if you WIN! Contest entries close at midnite January 11. A winner will be picked on Tuesday January 12 using a random name selector also known as my older daughter. Due to shipping costs, the contest is open to folks in the US, Canada and Mexico. To my friends across the pond, please accept my apologies.

What a terrific giveaway! I'd love to win this book and try some of the projects! BTW, I love your blog! The projects are terrific, and I often copy the quotes in my journal.

I have seen these book a number of times, and wanted to buy it, but just haven't been able to justify the purchase (since I'm not sure what I would find to make in it.).

Thanks for the awesome opportunity. I would love a boo at the projects, but my daughter who loves to sew will probably be the biggest winner! Sounds very interesting!!!

Thanks for this great opportunity. I am an elementary art teacher in Arlington (yes, we are neighbors), and I love your blog. After working on children's art, it helps me get reconnected and re motivated to do my own art work -
Thanks

What a cool looking book. I haven't heard of it but if I'm not the big winner I may just have to add it to my big, fat wishlist. Thanks for the contest! :)

This looks like so much fun. I love to sew and could use some new inspiration. My recent projects have all been incredibly boring mending and hemming projects. I'm ready for something FUN!

I love your blog! I have shared it with all my artist friends and I read it daily. It has inspired my own art journaling project: a small, business sized, two sided-collage with what I have on hand (mostly magazine and catalog pages) daily to fill up an altered Altoid tin. It's just about all the time I have for art these days, but I am committed to it for 40 days. Thank you for your commitment to this blog. Love it!

By the way, I, too, would enjoy the sewing book. Looks like just the thing for a limited time-budget for art.

I have looked at this book but never got it. Kind of afraid of having more projects sitting there waiting to be done. But I'm very curious about what they have come up with.

Love your blog

I love it! A friend of mine made something from the book and loves it - I think I would love it too! Thanks so much for doing the giveaway and for all of the color and inspiration you provide!

I've just moved my entire fabric stash out of my workroom before we can paint the walls, so I know I've got lots of single yards of material that deserve to be put to better use than just sitting on a shelf looking pretty -- Pick me! Pick me!

I wonder if the one-yard limit also limits the pattern difficulty 'cause I'm best with straight line sewing...I do love to sew though so pretty please, toss my name in the virtual hat! Love your blog as always! Thanks for the inspiration!

I've looked at the book before and found some of the projects interesting. Didn't buy it though as I now only buy books I absolutely completely can not live without! But I'd love to win it... ;-)
