365 Somethings #28-34

“You need to be content with small steps. That's all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance. It took me a long time to accept that, but it's true. You need to have patience."
Katie Kacvinsky

Stitching and more stitching for week FIVE of the 2013 challenge. I'm  happy to say that at this moment I am AHEAD of the game. February is going to be busy and I don't want to fall behind...  My birthday and my younger daughter's birthday are just two days apart, plus Valentine's day, my daughter's birthday sleepover party, all wrapped into one.

Which really means that I have to clean the house.

Seven more index card collages.

Which one do you like best?

Hanna is creating square collages. They are beautiful, have you seen them? Join the Flickr group for 365 Somethings. Everything is in my 365 Somethings Flickr set. Read all of the 365 somethings posts at this link.

LOVE these! My fav: "spend most of the edge" <3

{Tammy}: Teresa, Thank you! I love each of them as I am sewing... but then I find phrases that really speak to me. I love this phrase too. Like.. the edge of your energy, the edge of your day... the edge of your ideas...

grassy slope

I'm on track with my 365. Long may it last!

{Tammy}: Kim, Go girl! It helps tremendously to know that I'm not doing this alone!!!

I like "Filling Out Forms" best, it just seems to jump out at you! I'm curious -- when working with stitched elements do you adhere them to the background in some fashion before you start stitching? I've found that if I don't, they slip around. But I can't find an adhesive I like either. Really enjoying following along with your 365 "somethings"!

{Tammy}: Tina, I don't adhere the elements first, just start with one element, then add another, and another. In other words, I don't form them first and then stitch, I design as I stitch. If I put it all under the needle at once {doesn't that sound funny} it would indeed slip around!

LOVE the Kacvinsky quote... if only I could develop the patience... they all look great, so like the stitching element. I'll have to go check out the 365 somethings!

Filling out Forms, Grassy slope, Bob's Dept. are my favorites.
When in college there was a store we frequented called "Bob's" I got a wonderful pair of purple converse sneakers there for a song. Got my dad a shirt "bob's" since his name is Bob.
Feb. is big for Birthdays here as well. My sister and I grew up a day apart- 3rd and 5th of Feb. Then my first 2 kids are 3/5th of August- go figure? Kids never love it that close.
I love the quote! Have a great week.

I keep going back to Bob's Department and Spend most of the Edge. They are all such great creative exercises. I am working on my 365. I plan to share my mail art pieces once a month so I don't spoil anyone's surprise at the mail box. Your quotes are always wonderfully chosen. I look forward to them. All the birthday's here are grouped in January for the ladies and May for the guys. Funny how that happens.

these are BEAUTIFUL! love your project!

filling out forms is my favorite. that velvet really grabbed me, and I like any reference to libraries.
