Daily Paper Prompt #52: White Page
Fri, September 21, 2012 at 01:50PM Create a page of all WHITE things. This could be an art journal page or a mixed media collage. Cut out imagery from catalogs or magazines that is white, off white, cream, and include a little bit of black or brown to balance out the whiteness. Add fabric, white cardstock with small patterns, postage stamps, text with white background, try to get as much variety as you can.

This is a 9x12" art journal page on heavy cardboard in whites that I created for a guest post at Creative Every Day. The dark brown is actually the background cardboard's natural color.

I really enjoyed this prompt. Here's mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/towardsagoodlife/8022874011/in/photostream/
this was really fun! i appreciated the constraint of one color! I made a card for my friend who hosted my boyfriend and I at her house this past weekend.

When I am cutting out photos & words, then placing them on paper, I honestly feel silliest about working in my art journal or doing the daily paper prompt. BUT, I must admit, it is often when I have the most fun working on the projects. I guess total silliness is ok for grown-ups.
Though, there's the voice inside my head that says "what would people think if they saw me doing this?". I really like how my white page turned out!
Sherry, As you can tell, I'm beyond the stage of caring what anyone would think if they saw me with messy painty fingers, clip in my hair, gluing tiny paper scraps into a journal. It doesn't matter, does it? Because it's all about the DOING, the PROCESS, the fun. It is all about silliness and letting yourself relax and enjoy. I'm happy that you are noticing that you are having fun doing silly things!
